Udom Remains AKS Governor Beyond 2015, Says Sen. Akpabio
The immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has reaffirmed victory for his successor, Governor Udom Emmanuel.
He made the disclosure at weekend while delivering his goodwill message during the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol Festival.
Sen. Akpabio prophesied to the lives of those who turned up for the Christmas Festival. “For anybody that came here afflicted with any disease, your disease is gone. Verily verily I say unto you, your Christmas will be splendid. Your new year will be wonderful. You will overcome.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank all the international artistes who performed tonight and our dear brother, the young boy David Eka. Somebody said he is 13 years, the last time I knew him, he was 11 years and now he is competing with a great American artist. As you can see, we are about to export him to Europe. I love you and what you did tonight.
“For the great Akwa Ibom people, this is one mega state that God can never forget. Because you have kept faith with God. You have come here to join your voices to praise God, He will continue to add blessings upon you and your homes in Jesus’ name.
“Through your voices tonight, you have brought victory to Akwa Ibom State. I want you not to be distracted by pronouncements from lower court, upper court, and so on. The judge we need to listen to and wait for is the court of justice and that is from God Almighty.
“Together in 2015, we came and we said we must do justice. We must note that in 1999, we gave power to Uyo Senatorial District, in 2007, we gave power to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and together, in 2015, power will go to where? Eket Senatorial District. Those who have ears let them hear.
“I want to assure you that no Satanic propaganda can take away your mandate. I want to reassure you that come rain come shine, your will shall be done. The will of the people will continue to be the will of God.
“So what am I saying? I’m saying that Udom Gabriel Emmanuel will remain our governor beyond 2015. Udom, the people have spoken. This place tonight, you have over 65,000 votes. No card reader can take away your votes. These are your votes, they are all for you because you recognise God. Since you recognise God, He will continue to sustain your mandate.
“To the great people of Akwa Ibom State, I remain myself, Senator Albert Akpan, Senator Nelson Efiong, members of the National Assembly, we are your great ambassadors in Abuja. Our doors are open. Come there any time as usual and let us share bottles of understanding,” Senator Godswill Akpabio said.
The Appeal Court had on Friday, nullified the April 11 governorship elections in Akwa Ibom State that produced Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the Executive Governor of the State, and ordered a fresh election within 90 days.
